- La 2FDN vous invite à son workshop “Neutrons et Santé” qui aura lieu à Paris les 19 et 20 mars. Le workshop vise à faire le point sur les possibilités et promouvoir les techniques de diffusion neutronique pour la recherche dans le domaine de la santé. Toutes les informations sont disponibles ici. L’inscription est gratuite mais obligatoire en remplissant le formulaire d’inscription.
- La SFN s’est dotée d’un nouveau site web ! Un grand merci à Lucile Mangin-Thro pour son investissement dans la refonte du site web. Pour toute remarque ou suggestion d’ajout, contactez la SFN.
Prix de thèse SFN. Ce prix, d’un montant de 1500 euros, récompense un travail de thèse de qualité pour lequel l’apport de la diffusion neutronique est déterminant. L’attribution du prix de thèse est accompagnée d’une invitation à présenter son travail de thèse lors des prochaines JDN.
La date limite de candidature est le 15 avril 2024.
- La prochaine édition des FANs, Formation à la Neutronique, aura lieu du 25 au 27 juin 2024. Les inscriptions ouvriront très prochainement jusqu’au 15 mai. Informations sur le site de la 2FDN.
- À l’issue d’une période d’installation dans le hall des guides de l’ILL s’étant étalée sur 8 mois, l’instrument de diffusion des neutrons aux petits angles SAM (CRG 2FDN) a reçu ses premiers neutrons le 4 mars. Les prochaines étapes incluent la qualification de l’instrument au regard de la radioprotection, sa mise en service sous faisceau (“hot commissioning”) puis les premières expériences en mode “friendly user”, prévues pour le second cycle 2024, avant le long arrêt de l’ILL.

Demonstrating the complementary nature of SANS, SAXS and Wet-STEM on unfrozen samples
Micellar solutions can be used to treat wastewater containing cationic elements that need to be recovered either for valorisation or for immobilisation on solids in a decontamination process. The nanoobjects formed in such solutions can be characterized by SANS and SAXS, but also using Wet-Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (wet-STEM) .
