La SFN organise, comme chaque année, les Journées de la Diffusion Neutronique (JDN). Les JDN 2025 se dérouleront au village de vacances « Les Balcons du lac d’Annecy » à Sévrier, en Haute-Savoie, du 2 au 5 juin 2025.
La soumission des résumés est ouverte sur le site JDN2025 jusqu’au 16 mars 2025. Vous pouvez également vous inscrire dès maintenant et jusqu’au 30 avril. Notez que les places sont limitées et seront attribuées par ordre d’inscription.
Nouveauté cette année : un pass journée pour ceux qui ne peuvent participer qu’une seule journée. Cela devrait permettre à plus de personnes d’assister à l’événement, notamment aux membres de l’ILL, qui sera en fonctionnement.
- Les FAN 2025, formation à la Neutronique, auront lieu à Grenoble à l’ILL du 24 au 26 juin 2025. Vous pouvez dès maintenant consulter le programme et vous s’inscrire en suivant ce lien.
- ICONE sera une installation nationale de neutronique ouverte aux communautés scientifiques et industrielles désireuses de parfaire leurs recherches et développements. Sa phase d’Avant-Projet Détaillé (APD) a démarré en janvier 2024 pour une durée de 2 ans. Vous pouvez consulter les derniers avancements du projet sur son nouveau site WEB.

Fast-4D neutron imaging reveals complexity behind water vapour condensation in heterogeneous porous media
Condensation in porous media is critical for a variety of open challenges, from energy storage to carbon capture, and moisture transport in civil structures, yet remains poorly understood. To investigate this, neutron imaging at ILL was used to track water condensation and migration in fractured porous materials, while X-ray imaging at ESRF provided complementary insights into fracture morphology and solid structure. The results reveal that fractures act as primary vapor pathways, while condensed water accumulates in smaller pores due to capillary forces. This study emphasises the impact of fracture morphology and microstructure on condensation dynamics, offering new insights into phase change processes in porous media.
